Photomicrograph Compares Lump With Cast Sample
![]() |
Similar
photomicropgraphic patterns are evident in this
comparison of a sample cast by Ellis Neiburger, on left,
with the structure of Riverside Lump R666, on right. The sample is cast and hammered float copper prepared by Neiburger, who noted that "the Riverside site predates this artifact by approximately 2000 years." He also said that otherwise "the earliest data for a North American casting is 900 AD ( a copper Hohokam bell). |
