"The Riverside site is a unique archaic find. It was excavated in 1957 and initially described by Hruska (Hruska, 1967). This site is located in Menominee County, Michigan, just north of the Wisconsin state line. Radiocarbon and dendrochronology dates rang e from 1370 BC to 50 AD (Boszhardt, 1977)," according to Ellis J. Neiburger.

"A large assortment of pottery, distinctive lithic and carefully crafted copper implements were discovered. Among these was a large lump of hammered copper which was found in a refuse pit, Feature #64 (Hruska, 1967). The lump is labeled R666 (55786/21523) and is curated at the Milwaukee Public Museum."
